Dr. Vu Tran graduated from UT Dallas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2001. He had wanted to be an Eye Doctor since grade school and worked in the eye care field after college. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio in 2013. Following this, he successfully obtained his Therapeutic Glaucoma sub specialization. He has furthered his education with extensive and ongoing post graduate training and practices full-scope eye care with experience in the medical treatment and surgical management of eye diseases.
Dr. Tran served as Director of Primary Eye Care at Baylor Scott and White Hospital. He is a licensed Eye Doctor and Therapeutic Glaucoma specialist. He was handpicked to manage their Primary Eye Care, Dry Eye and Postoperative Clinics. Prior to working at Baylor, he was in a private practice in the West Fort Worth suburbs.
Dr. Tran provides a wide range of eye care services including Primary eye care, Contact Lens exams, Diabetic, Macular Degeneration Surgery Free Vision Correction, and Glaucoma care. He has extensive experience in the co-management of Laser Vision Correction and Cataract Surgery. In addition, he specializes in the therapeutic treatment and management of ocular disease and glaucoma. He is also a registered Diabetic educator. He believes in treating his patients the way he would want to be treated. He enjoys presenting eye findings in a clear understandable manner so that patients are their own best advocates.
Dr. Tran is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He is licensed by both the Texas Optometry Board and the National Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Tran was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and was raised in Irving, Texas. He is an alumnus of Irving MacArthur High School. He and his wife have two young children. Outside of work, they dedicate their time raising their children and focusing on family life. He is also an avid sports fan (Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, Rangers and Stars
